Honest Evaluation
When you use the Standard Individual grading system, you will use the following information as a guideline for determining your grade. The key to this system is that you will need to be honest about what you are seeing in your submitted video.
It functions as follows:
0 = Do nothing and earn a grade of zero. I would go into further explanation here, but it should be self-evident that if you don't turn in anything, I cannot grade it.
60-74 = If you give yourself a grade in this range, you will need to write a one page essay explaining what was so bad about the video. This should address what you did wrong, and how you can fix this going forward. This paragraph must be submitted with the video and should include your recommended grade at the top of the page.
75-84 = This means that you know your video was average. It demonstrates that you made effort, but is not an exceptional video.
85-95 = Your video demonstrates that you have a solid understanding of film-making. There are few, barely noticeable, mistakes in the project. To earn this grade, you will need to submit a one page essay explaining what you did wrong, how you can correct it, and what you did well in the video. This paragraph must be submitted with the video and should include your recommended grade at the top of the page.
*This is the grade that you would give yourself. Mr. Dempsey will also provide an evaluation of the video and your grade may be adjusted accordingly.
