Your input is required...
With this system of grading, you and your group members, will evaluate your work and determine your grade. The system evaluates each area of production and uses that to figure your final score. Sometimes this will be based solely on the group, and other times the teacher score will be calculated in. To determine this score, please follow the steps below:
- Watch the video.
- Give the video between 1 and 10 points for all aspects of pre-production. This will include the story, the script, and any required elements that should be included in the video. You will also consider the shot variety here, as this should be considered before shooting begins. You can include .5 points as well.
Write a paragraph explanation for any grades given that are over 8.5 or below 6.5. - Give the video between 1 and 10 points for all aspects of production. This will include shot quality and composition, audio recording, lighting, and acting. You can include .5 points as well.
Write a paragraph explanation for any grades given that are over 8.5 or below 6.5. - Give the video between 1 and 10 points for all aspects of post-production. This will include editing mistakes, inclusion/exclusion of required graphics, audio mixing and balancing, etc. You can include .5 points as well.
Write a paragraph explanation for any grades given that are over 8.5 or below 6.5. - Add your three phases together and divide that number by 30. For example:
7 pts. for pre-production
8 pts. for production
7 pts. for post-production
= 22 pts. total divided by 30 equals: .7333333 which rounds to a grade of 73 - Now, get with your group and each person tell you their grade. Let's say that Tim gives a 65, Lisa gives a 74, Robby gives an 83, and Sarah gives a 76. That would be a total of 65+74+83+76=298
- Divide that number by the number of people in the group. In this case, that would be 298/4=74.5, which rounds up to a 75 for the average group grade.
- If the teacher is figuring their grade into the final grade, they will take your group average and add that to their grade, then divide that by two. For example, say that Mr. Dempsey gave the video a grade of 85, he would add that your your 75, then divide by two, for a final grade of 80.
